Anush's interview with Eugene Arellanes
Eugene Arellanes is Certified Sommelier who currently works at three different restaurants in Los Angeles as a Sommelier. Last year in 2020 he had the opportunity to work his first wine harvest at Sycamore Ranch Vineyard and Winery located in Crestline, CA, where he got to learn winemaking along with cider making. His first introduction to wine came when he was finishing up his last quarter in college, and enrolled in a course called Wine, Beer, and Spirits. After finishing that course and graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with his Bachelors in Communications, he started falling in love with the beverage world little by little. In 2017, he took the introductory sommelier exam through the Court of Master Sommeliers and passed; two and half years later passed his certified sommelier exam. In addition, he is a certified specialist of wine and most recently passed the french wine scholar. He enjoys learning about the world of wine and the obscurity that the beverage world has to offer.
