Wine and Dine In LA With Anush Friday Feburary 5 , 2021 Part (1) Join Anush Gharibyan O’Conor Her Special Guest Ani Davtyan was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
After graduating CSUN, she took a trip to Armenia with her grandmother, Vertaim, and was inspired by the culture and food. Her grandmother makes delicious traditional dishes that everyone always loves and craves. When they got back, She wanted to purse a career within the food industry to preserve these traditional dishes with her own touch. They began catering parties, events and learned a lot along the way. Shortly after covid struck, Ani put a pause on anything she had planned including weekly Farmers Markers out of safety for grandmother. During this time, she began baking donuts from home. After great feedback and support from friends and family, orders started taking off. In early July they secured their permanent space at a commercial kitchen, where they accepted pick up and delivery orders. They were outgrowing this space which led to opening a Pop Up in Westfield Topanga’s The Village in early October. Verto’s Kitchen offered baked donuts, traditional Mediterranean pastries, & ceremonial grade matcha drinks. After an overwhelming amount of support, they decided to make the location their permanent space. Ani’s goal within the next 5 years would be perfect the cafe experience, open another location, and eventually a restaurant.
